My Daily Routine

Present Simple — Affirmative · Level A1
What is the Present Simple?
Usamos o Present Simple para falar sobre rotinas, hábitos e fatos — coisas que acontecem regularmente.

Para a forma afirmativa, usamos o verbo na forma base para I, you, we, they. Para he, she, it adicionamos -s ou -es ao verbo.
I / You / We / They + verb   ·   He / She / It + verb + S
I / You / We / They

Estrutura

Subject + verb (base form) + ...
I wake up at 6 o'clock every day. (Eu acordo às 6h todos os dias.) You have breakfast at 7 a.m. (Você toma café da manhã às 7h.) We go to work by bus. (Nós vamos trabalhar de ônibus.) They eat lunch together. (Eles almoçam juntos.)
He / She / It — adds -S or -ES

Reading: Why You Need a Daily Routine

Adapted from: BetterUp — "Why you need a daily routine (and how to make one)" by Elizabeth Perry · betterup.com

A daily routine is a set of actions you do every day. For example, you wake up at the same time, have breakfast, go to work, and go to bed at night. These actions form your routine.

Positive routines are important because they help you build healthy habits. When you do the same thing every day, it becomes easier. For example, if you go to the gym every morning, you don't think about it — you just go. If you cook fresh vegetables for dinner every day, you eat better and feel healthier.

Routines also reduce stress. When your day has structure, you feel more in control. You finish your work, eat well, sleep well, and have time for friends and family. Your quality of life gets better.

Here is an example of a healthy daily schedule:

In the morning, Sarah wakes up at 5:30 a.m. She drinks a glass of water and eats a small snack. Then she goes for a jog for 30 minutes. After that, she takes a shower and gets ready for work. At 7:30 a.m., she makes her bed and writes her goals for the day. She has breakfast and listens to a podcast on her commute to work.

At work, Sarah takes short breaks and drinks water. At 12:00 p.m., she eats a nutritious lunch. In the afternoon, she goes for a short walk. After work, she buys groceries and makes dinner at home. In the evening, she reads for one hour and stretches before bed. She goes to sleep at 10:00 p.m.

A good routine takes effort, but it is worth it. When you repeat healthy actions every day, your life gets better — and so does your health.
